Overview

The Autism Spectrum Positive Inclusion Readiness Education (Aspire) program provides specialist training to help local communities more effectively support young people with autism and other emotional and behavioural challenges, such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Aspire for Teachers and Schools provides practical, evidence-based tools that can be used to increase the inclusion of neurodiverse students in educational environments. The training is delivered in an interactive small group format to maximise learning and provide opportunities customise tools for participant needs.

Research shows that teachers who have students with autism in their classes can experience higher levels of stress than their colleagues, and can also feel like they are not being supported. To address this challenge, the Aspire training provides tools to improve teachers’ resilience and ability to seek appropriate support.
