Overview

Ascendant is a peer support program that helps neurodiverse people to develop new skills and networks in order to achieve their goals. Ascendant groups meet monthly and are a friendly and supportive environment that can help members to stay on track as they work towards their employment, educational, and personal aspirations.

Each month, members have the opportunity to network with each other in a facilitated peer-led discussion, learn a new skill in a structured, evidence-based workshop, and complete life administration tasks, such as paperwork, that they would otherwise find challenging.

Research shows that employment, post-secondary education, and relationships are all important predictors of quality of life for neurodiverse adults. The Ascendant program builds on these insights, and provides a framework that can help members to improve their wellbeing.
